The Educational Requirements for an Automotive Engineer

Formal Education An automotive engineer’s career training begins with a four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. This is generally the basic requirement for entry-level jobs in the career. While pursing their bachelor’s degree, students take classes in a range of fields, including physics, mathematics, design and computer science. Certain programs also require core courses in the humanities, in areas such as English or philosophy. The first two years typically consist of foundational classes in math and science, while the last two or three years consist of more engineering-specific courses. Aspiring automotive engineers should pursue a degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field. Licensing After graduating from a bachelor’s in engineering program, engineers in all 50 states must obtain a Fundamentals of Engineering license by passing a rigorous exam. Engineers who complete this step become engineers in training, or EITs, or engineer in…

The Importance of Scientific Research

The Value of Scientific Research Scientific research is an objective method to prove a hypothesis, claim or observation. Unlike relying on mental processes or group reasoning, research methods are not restricted by the limits of critical thinking, biased discussion or personal opinions. Conducting research is valuable for developing and promoting the body of knowledge and information that drives innovation, and allows us to live healthier and longer lives. Scientific research is also important for dispelling the false claims of inaccurate or weak research. The Scientific Method Researchers follow the scientific method to come to conclusions. The University of Rochester explains that the scientific method has four general steps that must be followed in order. The first is making an observation about a thing or group and describing it, such as: "Drug X is better for diabetic individuals." Second, a hypothesis or theory about why the observation occurs is made. For example, &q…

You should first do research on your essay topic and then use your introduction as a way to discuss what your primary arguments will be in the essay. The introduction should then end with a clear and concise thesis statement. Analyze what others wrote on your topic. Also state your disagreements and agreements on their views and why. This is a good way to transition into your thesis statement because you're starting the introduction by stating what your opinions are on the topic at hand and comparing what experts are saying to your research. Don't squeeze too much in the introduction. Your goal is to give readers a synopsis of what you're arguing for and you'll use the rest of the paper to give evidence for your argument. Also don't start the introduction with the evidence for your claim because this will confuse readers. Start the introducti…
